We’re excited to introduce a new feature in DataSunrise: Risk Score. Built to help you quickly understand the security risks in your databases—both from the data itself and the people who have access to it. Available starting from version 11.2, Risk Score gives you instant visibility into your risk landscape so you can act faster and smarter.

What Is Risk Score?

Risk Score gives you a clear, easy-to-understand number (from 0 to 100) showing how risky a database object or user might be. It takes into account things like:

• How sensitive the data is (e.g. credit cards, emails, SSNs)
• Who has access and what they can do with it
• Whether security protections are in place
• How often the data is actually being accessed

Each database object and user gets its own score, so you can instantly see where the biggest risks are and focus your attention there.

Why It’s Needed

Databases often hold sensitive data, and it’s not always obvious where the biggest vulnerabilities are. Maybe a user has too much access, or a table with sensitive info isn’t properly protected.

Risk Score helps you spot these problems before they turn into incidents. It’s a simple way to cut through the noise and get a real sense of what needs attention—without having to dig through logs or permissions manually.

How It Works

Risk Score uses the results from Data Discovery to find sensitive data, then combines that with audit logs, user permissions, and security settings to calculate a score. The more sensitive the data and the weaker the protection, the higher the risk score.

Here’s how the scores are grouped:

Score Range	Risk Level	What It Means
75–100	Very High Risk	Needs immediate attention
50–74	High Risk	Should be reviewed and addressed
25–49	Medium Risk	Acceptable, but monitor regularly
1–24	Low Risk	Minimal concern, keep an eye on it
0	No Risk	No sensitive data found

These scores help you understand both the current situation and how it changes over time.
